We have the latest impaired driving report from the Halton Police.
There were six cases across Halton last weekend:
On Friday, August 20th, just before 3:30 a.m., Halton Police officers responded to a citizen-initiated complaint in the area of Speers Road and Dorval Drive in Oakville. As a result of an investigation, a 27-year-old Peterborough man was charged with operation while impaired.
On Friday, August 20th, just before 3:00 p.m., Halton Police officers responded to a collision in the area of Derry Road and Appleby Line in Milton. As a result of an investigation, a 53-year-old Milton woman was charged with operation while impaired and blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.
On Saturday, August 21st, just before 12:30 a.m., Halton Police officers responded to a collision in the area of Rankin Drive and Regal Road in Burlington. As a result of an investigation, a 19-year-old Burlington man was charged with operation while impaired and blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.
On Saturday, August 21st, just before 3:00 a.m., Halton Police officers responded to a citizen-initiated complaint in the area of 22 Side Road and Highway 7 in Halton Hills. As a result of an investigation, a 18-year-old Halton Hills woman was charged with operation while impaired and blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.
On Saturday, August 21st, just before 12:00 p.m., Halton Police officers responded to a citizen-initiated complaint in the area of Lakeshore Road and Eastport Drive in Burlington. As a result of an investigation, a 41-year-old Hamilton man was charged with operation while impaired.
On Sunday, August 22nd, just after 12:00 a.m., Halton Police officers responded to a collision in the area of Trafalgar Road and the Queen Elizabeth Way in Oakville. As a result of an investigation, a 47-year-old Milton woman was charged with operation while impaired and blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.

Remember, driving under the influence is considered a crime in progress. Call 9-1-1 if you suspect that someone on the road is driving impaired.
Here are some signs of an impaired driver provided by the Halton Police:
- Driving unreasonably fast, slow or at an inconsistent speed;
- Drifting in and out of lanes;
- Tailgating and changing lanes frequently;
- Making exceptionally wide turns;
- Changing lanes or passing without sufficient clearance;
- Overshooting or stopping well before stop signs or stop lights;
- Disregarding signals and lights;
- Approaching signals or leaving intersections too quickly or slowly;
- Driving without headlights, failing to lower high beams or leaving turn signals on; and,
- Driving with windows open in cold or inclement weather.
The HRPS says that its officers remain committed to road safety through prevention, education, and enforcement initiatives.
