A Burlington woman is facing a list of charges following a stolen vehicle investigation on Townline Road East in Cayuga in Haldimand County.
On Tuesday, May 11th, at 2:58 p.m., OPP responded to the area of Townline Road East and Haldimand Highway 56 for a report of a stolen vehicle in the area. The vehicle was reported to have been in several collisions in the Halton Region.
The stolen vehicle was recovered on Townline Road. Officers spoke to a witness who saw an individual flee the vehicle on foot into a nearby wooded area.
Containment of the area was set up by officers.
A short time later, a traffic stop on Singer Road in Cayuga was conducted. Officers spoke with the two occupants in the vehicle. The passenger was found to be involved with the stolen vehicle and they were subsequently taken into custody without incident. A search of the individual revealed they were in possession of stolen property and a break in instrument.
27-year-old Ashley Taylor of Burlington is charged with:
- Dangerous Operation of a motor vehicle (2 counts)
- Failure to stop after accident (4 counts)
- Flight from Peace Officer
- Possession of Break-In Instruments
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 (2 counts)
Taylor is set to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cayuga at a later date to answer to the charges.
