Coming out of the weekend, the Halton Region says that two more residents have died from COVID-19.
Both deaths were Milton residents. That brings our town up to 45 total deaths from the virus. Oakville remains at 63, Halton Hills is at 57 and Burlington is at 53. Halton is now up to 218 total deaths.
Across Halton, there are 98 new cases. The total number of cases is up to 16,272. With 15,276 resolved cases and 218 deaths, Halton is now at 778 active cases – 78 less than Friday’s count. The Region says that of the 16,272 total cases, 15,773 were confirmed positive while 539 were considered probable cases.
In Milton, we have 31 new cases. That brings us to 5305 total cases. With 5029 resolved cases and 45 deaths, Milton is at 231 active cases – 49 less than Friday’s number. The Region says that of the 5305 total cases, 5104 were confirmed positive while 201 were considered probable cases.
The Halton Region is detailing the number of COVID-19 variant cases. It says that 4600 total variant cases have been found in Halton. Milton has reportedly had 1634 total variant cases.
The Halton Region is also noting vaccination numbers. A total of 232,815 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Halton. 203,668 of the doses were to Halton residents.
Here’s a breakdown on ages of those receiving doses:
- 7555 doses have been administered to people aged 16-24;
- 7595 doses have been administered to people aged 25-29;
- 8819 doses have been administered to people aged 30-34;
- 10,467 doses have been administered to people aged 35-39;
- 16,981 doses have been administered to people aged 40-44;
- 18,524 doses have been administered to people aged 45-49;
- 19,799 doses have been administered to people aged 50-54;
- 24,179 doses have been administered to people aged 55-59;
- 26,173 doses have been administered to people aged 60-64;
- 23,970 doses have been administered to people aged 65-69;
- 22,307 doses have been administered to people aged 70-74;
- 17,384 doses have been administered to people aged 75-79;
- 29,046 doses have been administered to people aged 80+; and,
- 16 doses have been administered to people that are pending.
The following is where the vaccine doses have been administered:
- 33,651 doses have been administered through pharmacies and physicians’ offices;
- 20,049 doses have been administered through the Halton Region Public Health and Paramedic Mobile Teams;
- 179,115 doses have been administered through community and hospital-based clinics.
