The Halton Region says that two Milton residents have died from COVID-19.
The deaths give our town 43 total from the virus. Oakville remains at 63, Halton Hills is at 57, and Burlington is at 53 deaths from COVID-19. Halton is now at 216 deaths total.
Across Halton, there are 131 new cases. The total number of cases is up to 15,973. With 14,901 resolved cases and 216 deaths, Halton is now at 856 active cases – 14 less than Thursday’s count. The Region says that of the 15,973 total cases, 15,440 were confirmed positive while 533 were considered probable cases.
In Milton, we have 36 new cases. That brings us to 5212 total cases. With 4889 resolved cases and 43 deaths, Milton is at 280 active cases – 23 less than Thursday’s number. The Region says that of the 5212 total cases, 5017 were confirmed positive while 195 were considered probable cases.
The Halton Region is detailing the number of COVID-19 variant cases. It says that 4376 total variant cases have been found in Halton. Milton has reportedly had 1561 total variant cases.
The Halton Region is also noting vaccination numbers. A total of 222,676 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Halton. 194,736 of the doses were to Halton residents.
Here’s a breakdown on ages of those receiving doses:
- 6758 doses have been administered to people aged 16-24;
- 6902 doses have been administered to people aged 25-29;
- 7881 doses have been administered to people aged 30-34;
- 9476 doses have been administered to people aged 35-39;
- 15,802 doses have been administered to people aged 40-44;
- 17,198 doses have been administered to people aged 45-49;
- 17,789 doses have been administered to people aged 50-54;
- 22,877 doses have been administered to people aged 55-59;
- 25,754 doses have been administered to people aged 60-64;
- 23,783 doses have been administered to people aged 65-69;
- 22,187 doses have been administered to people aged 70-74;
- 17,320 doses have been administered to people aged 75-79;
- 28,933 doses have been administered to people aged 80+; and,
- 16 doses have been administered to people that are pending.
The following is where the vaccine doses have been administered:
- 32,870 doses have been administered through pharmacies and physicians’ offices;
- 19,917 doses have been administered through the Halton Region Public Health and Paramedic Mobile Teams;
- 169,889 doses have been administered through community and hospital-based clinics.
