The Halton Region says that two people in Halton have reportedly died from COVID-19.
One of the two was a Milton resident, giving our town 41 deaths total. The other person was from Burlington, giving the city 53 deaths. 62 people have died in Oakville, and 57 have died in Halton Hills. Halton has 213 total deaths from the virus.
There are 146 new cases in the region. The total number of cases is up to 15,075. With 13,979 resolved cases and 213 deaths, Halton is now at 883 active cases – 22 less than Thursday’s count. The Region says that of the 15,075 total cases, 14,582 were confirmed positive while 493 were considered probable cases.
In Milton, we have 42 new cases. That brings us to 4899 total cases. With 4581 resolved cases and 41 deaths, Milton is at 288 active cases – 11 less than Thursday’s number. The Region says that of the 4899 total cases, 4716 were confirmed positive while 183 were considered probable cases.
The Halton Region is detailing the number of COVID-19 variant cases. It says that 3700 total variant cases have been found in Halton. Milton has reportedly had 1323 total variant cases.
The Halton Region is also noting vaccination numbers. A total of 196,967 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Halton. 172,863 of the doses were to Halton residents.
Here’s a breakdown on ages of those receiving doses:
- 4709 doses have been administered to people aged 16-24;
- 5191 doses have been administered to people aged 25-29;
- 5566 doses have been administered to people aged 30-34;
- 6730 doses have been administered to people aged 35-39;
- 11,683 doses have been administered to people aged 40-44;
- 12,979 doses have been administered to people aged 45-49;
- 13,495 doses have been administered to people aged 50-54;
- 20,429 doses have been administered to people aged 55-59;
- 24,984 doses have been administered to people aged 60-64;
- 23,388 doses have been administered to people aged 65-69;
- 21,932 doses have been administered to people aged 70-74;
- 17,157 doses have been administered to people aged 75-79;
- 28,708 doses have been administered to people aged 80+; and,
- 16 doses have been administered to people that are pending.
The following is where the vaccine doses have been administered:
- 28,001 doses have been administered through pharmacies and physicians’ offices;
- 19,015 doses have been administered through the Halton Region Public Health and Paramedic Mobile Teams;
- 149,951 doses have been administered through community and hospital-based clinics.
