A Halton nursing home is receiving $645,332 from the provincial and federal governments in a joint-investment.
Mount Nemo Christian Nursing Home on Guelph Line will be receiving the money to make upgrades.
“This investment will benefit many of the most vulnerable people in our community, providing them with the comfortable and safe living spaces they deserve,” says MPP Gill. “With previous investments of $756,400 for two long-term care homes and $135,600 for three retirement homes in Milton to increase their protection against COVID-19, our government continues to take strong actions that put the safety and well-being of long-term care residents at the centre of everything we do.”
It’s part of a $100 million investment to install heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems, and make retrofits or repairs to fire sprinkler systems, in 95 long-term care homes across the province. These investments will help provide care, comfort, and safety to residents.
“Our Government is reversing decades of neglect and underfunding by repairing and rebuilding long-term care in Ontario like never before,” says Dr. Merrilee Fullerton, Minister of Long-Term Care. “Today’s investment in homes across the province is another part of our government’s plan to ensure our loved ones live in comfort and with the safety, dignity and respect they deserve.”
