There is a new death in Halton from COVID-19.
The Halton Region says the death is an Oakville resident, the town’s 62nd death from the virus. Halton Hills remains at 56 deaths, Burlington is at 52 deaths, and Milton is at 40 deaths. Halton has 210 deaths in total.
There are 124 new cases in the region. The total number of cases is up to 14,644. With 13,573 resolved cases and 210 deaths, Halton is now at 861 active cases – 23 less than Monday’s count. The Region says that of the 14,644 total cases, 14,170 were confirmed positive while 474 were considered probable cases.
In Milton, we have 38 new cases. That brings us to 4767 total cases. With 4465 resolved cases and 40 deaths, Milton is at 262 active cases – 23 less than Monday’s number. The Region says that of the 4767 total cases, 4591 were confirmed positive while 176 were considered probable cases.
The Halton Region is detailing the number of COVID-19 variant cases. It says that 3332 total variant cases have been found in Halton. Milton has reportedly had 1201 total variant cases.
The Halton Region is also noting vaccination numbers. A total of 182,711 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Halton. 160,990 of the doses were to Halton residents.
Here’s a breakdown on ages of those receiving doses:
- 4072 doses have been administered to people aged 16-24;
- 4458 doses have been administered to people aged 25-29;
- 4662 doses have been administered to people aged 30-34;
- 5442 doses have been administered to people aged 35-39;
- 9158 doses have been administered to people aged 40-44;
- 10,109 doses have been administered to people aged 45-49;
- 10,906 doses have been administered to people aged 50-54;
- 19,051 doses have been administered to people aged 55-59;
- 24,312 doses have been administered to people aged 60-64;
- 23,059 doses have been administered to people aged 65-69;
- 21,749 doses have been administered to people aged 70-74;
- 17,063 doses have been administered to people aged 75-79;
- 28,657 doses have been administered to people aged 80+; and,
- 12 doses have been administered to people that are pending.
The following is where the vaccine doses have been administered:
- 23,468 doses have been administered through pharmacies and physicians’ offices;
- 18,134 doses have been administered through the Halton Region Public Health and Paramedic Mobile Teams;
- 141,109 doses have been administered through community and hospital-based clinics.
