The pandemic has taken a toll on the mental health of many Canadians.
In a survey conducted by Canadian Mental Health Association, it showed that calls to 211 Ontario, a community and social services help line, were up 50% in the last year.
CMHA’s Mike Benin says there is a waiting list for all services right now.
While waiting to receive the services, people are also encouraged to stay in touch with friends and family through telephone and social media.
Other things that can improve mental health include eating healthy, exercise, and limiting alcohol consumption.
Virtual support for mental health can be found on the Government of Ontario’s website here.
