The Halton Region has released the latest COVID-19 stats for Friday, February 19th.
Across Halton, there are 43 new cases. That brings the total number of cases to 9181. With 8748 resolved cases and 189 deaths, Halton is now at 244 active cases – nine less than Thursday’s total.
In Milton, we have seven new cases. The total number of cases that have happened in our town is now 2902. With 2806 resolved cases and 35 deaths, Milton now has 61 active cases – four less than yesterday’s number.
Looking at Milton’s major ongoing outbreaks:
- Since Sunday, January 10th, there have been 33 reported cases at Allendale. 19 are residents, three are staff members, three are unspecified, and the other eight are categorized as ‘non-Halton’ cases. There have been six deaths at the LTCH: five were residents, while the other one is still not specified.
- On Monday, January 18th, the Halton Region reported an outbreak at what is classified as ‘Congregate Living – 37’. It’s believed that this is Maplehurst Correctional Facility, which was reportedly experiencing an outbreak at the same time of the same magnitude. As of the time of writing, there have been 289 total cases reported during this outbreak. 185 have been residents, 12 have been staff members, and 92 are categorized as ‘non-Halton’ cases.
