Restaurants in Milton can now apply for a temporary outdoor patio in 2021.
The Town of Milton says it has worked to improve on last year’s application process. It hopes businesses applying online for a patio permit will experience a quick renewal process. In a release, the Town said the following:
“The Town is committed to reviewing all applications through an expedited process to support and help local restaurants and businesses safely maximize the patio season. Town staff will work closely with applicants to ensure public safety measures such as pedestrian access and safe vehicle circulation are in place. In addition to compliance with health and safety requirements, conditions of liquor licensing and provincial emergency orders, businesses are required to comply with all conditions of approval for temporary patios.”
Most fees will be waived, aside from nominal fees legally required. The Town says the waiving of fees is “to assist the local business community in managing the challenges of COVID-19 and its related restrictions.”
