Three Halton residents have reportedly died from COVID-19 over the weekend.
The three deaths are Burlington (44 deaths total), Halton Hills (40), and Oakville (58) residents. That brings Halton to 174 deaths total.
Across the Region, there are 31 new cases. The total count is now 8791 cases. With 8225 resolved cases and 174 deaths, Halton now has 392 active cases – four less than what was reported on Friday.
In Milton, we have six new cases. Our total is now 2807 cases. With 2616 resolved cases and 32 deaths, Milton now has 159 active cases – four less than Friday’s count.
Looking at Milton’s ongoing outbreaks:
- Since Sunday, January 10th, there have been 23 reported cases at Allendale. 11 are residents, two are staff members, four are unspecified, and the other six are categorized as ‘non-Halton’ cases. There have been three deaths. Two were residents, the other hasn’t been specified just yet.
- On Monday, January 18th, the Halton Region reported an outbreak at what is classified as ‘Congregate Living – 37’. It’s believed that this is Maplehurst Correctional Facility, which was reportedly experiencing an outbreak at the same time of the same magnitude. As of the time of writing, there have been 256 total cases reported during this outbreak. 166 have been residents, ten have been staff members, two are currently unspecified, and 78 are categorized as ‘non-Halton’ cases.
