Three more Halton residents have died, two of them being Milton residents.
The other death is a Burlington resident, giving the city its 32nd death from the virus. Milton is now at 29 deaths. Halton overall has 146 deaths.
At the time of writing, one of the Milton deaths has been linked to the new outbreak at Allendale. The second death has not yet been linked to any outbreak.
Taking a look at the ongoing outbreaks in Milton:
- Since December 16th, there have been 57 cases reported at Revera Birkdale Place. 39 of the cases have been residents, ten have been staff members, five are unspecified, and three are ‘non-Halton’ cases. There has been one death associated to the outbreak at the retirement home. It was a resident.
- As of Sunday, January 10th, a third outbreak has begun at Allendale. As of the time of writing, there are five reported cases. Two are residents, one is unspecified, and the other two are categorized as ‘non-Halton’ cases. There is now one death reported at the LTCH. It was a resident.
Across Halton, there are 75 new cases. That brings the Region’s total to 7639 cases. With 7054 resolved cases and 146 deaths, Halton now has 439 active cases – one more than yesterday.
In Milton, we have 25 new cases. Our total is up to 2381 cases. With 2220 resolved cases and 29 deaths, Milton is now at 132 active cases – one more than yesterday.
myFM News is still working to confirm a report from a listener that a Milton retirement home is experiencing an outbreak. If it is, the Halton Region will report it within the week regardless.
