With the current shutdown in place, the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs is encouraging all snowmobilers to ride local.
It asks riders to avoid traveling outside their public health region. To discourage outside travel, the OFSC has made trails between health units temporarily unavailable. Riders are asked to only ride in zones that are categorized as green or yellow on the OFSC interactive trail guide.
In a release, the OFSC says it was pleased to see that the Government of Ontario stated “trails servicing snowmobiles will be allowed to be open following all public health guidelines” during the shutdown. It also notes that most snowmobile trails in Ontario are unavailable (Red) at this time. Trails to Quebec, Manitoba and the United States remain closed.
According to the ITG, Milton does not have any official snowmobile trails, and therefore, residents should stay home until the shutdown has ended.
