We are less than a week away from 2021.
myFM News is catching up with local figures and organizations to wrap up the year that was.
The Director of Development for the Townsend Smith Hospice Foundation, Kate Holmes, says, thankfully, 2020 didn’t hurt them too much.
There were a lot of positives this year for the Foundation. Holmes says it’s remarkable that they were able to take their events virtual this year. The Hike for Hospice was able to raise more than $20,000 this year, which is more than quadruple what they had done in previous years. She says that it shows the community’s support towards bringing a hospice to North Halton.
The Townsend Smith Foundation was also the first ever Charity of the Year for the Milton Chamber of Commerce’s annual awards.
Holmes says the New Year looks a lot more active for them.
In the meantime, you can take part in the Catch the Ace draw. The contest came to a close this year after just three weeks. It will be re-launching in the New Year.
