UPDATE: The Premier of Ontario, Doug Ford, has announced that Ontario will enter a province-wide lockdown on Saturday, December 26th.

We’re expecting to find out more information about a potential province-wide lockdown this afternoon.
Premier Doug Ford will be speaking at 1:00 p.m. and is expected to outline the next step in the province’s plan to stop the spread of COVID-19.
According to several media reports, today’s announcement could include a shutdown for all regions of Ontario beginning at 12:01 a.m. on Thursday, December 24th (Christmas Eve). Those reports have since been countered with the potential lockdown beginning on Saturday, December 26th (Boxing Day) instead.
The Premier’s office has not confirmed the reports.
Yesterday, 2316 new cases of the novel coronavirus were reported, bringing the rolling seven-day average to 2249.
