2020 is finally coming to an end.
myFM News is rounding out the year by checking in with local figures and organizations with our annual Year Ender interviews.
The Regional Councillor for Milton’s Ward 3, Mike Cluett, says, obviously, the year was very challenging.
He adds that things are starting to turn around, noting the distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine in Canada being underway. He also says that Milton Council just experienced a shining moment for the year: the Milton Education Village Secondary Plan being approved. You can read more on that here.
Councillor Cluett highlights a few positive stories of 2020, including the kickstart of #MiltonStrong, where Milton residents took to Facebook to highlight local businesses in hopes to keep them afloat during the pandemic.
One of his favourite stories of 2020 is the work being done at Allendale by a group of committed Miltonians. The group has decorated the courtyard of the LTCH to help bring some light to the dark times that are happening at Allendale. You can read more on ‘Lighting Up Allendale’ here.
When looking at 2021, Cluett says he likes to stay positive. With the vaccine being rolled out across the country, there are some good things happening in the world. He says 2021 is looking to be an improvement over the past year.
As we move through the holiday season, Councillor Cluett is wishing Milton residents happy holidays. He asks that each person take the time and effort to be kind to each other, and exclaims that he loves our town.
