The government says it has begun deploying new COVID-19 rapid tests in some parts of the province.
Premier Doug Ford says they are currently distributing the rapid tests to protect those most vulnerable.
They are also being used in two hospitals with 20 additional hospitals preparing to launch rapid testing.
Ford says the tests are a “game changer” in the fight against COVID-19.
The Premier says this is an important next step in their provincial strategy.
Health Minister Christine Elliott these new tests will provide Ontarians with more access to innovative testing options and will help to quickly identify and manage outbreaks to stop the spread of COVID-19.
She calls the rapid tests an exciting development.
In the updated numbers for Tuesday, November 24th, the Region reported 28 new cases for Halton, 13 of them being out of Milton.
Ontario reported roughly 1009 new cases.
