A Mississauga man is facing weapon possession charges following a traffic stop in Halton.
The stop happened on Tuesday, November 17th at roughly 12:00 p.m. in the area of Winston Churchill Boulevard and Dundas Street in Oakville.
The Halton Police conducted an investigation and search on the vehicle and found a pepper spray canister, two flick knives, a collapsible baton, and a pair of authentic handcuffs with key. There were also two speed measuring warning devices (radar detectors) and a seat belt bypass tool were found to be in use within the truck.
36-year old James Jenkins of Mississauga is facing:
- Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
- Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Weapon
- Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Weapon in a Motor Vehicle
- 6 Highway Traffic Act offences
- 1 Dangerous Goods Transportation Act offence
He was released on an undertaking and Provincial Offences Act summons.
