Milton’s Town Council has approved an all-way stop at No. 5 Side Road and Boston Church.
The signs are being installed due to a history of collisions in the area. The report says:
“In order for an all-way stop to be warranted, both Parts “A” and “B” must equal 100% or when a collision analysis is run there must be a minimum of 3 collisions per year over a 3 year period. Since both Parts “A” and “B” do not equal 100%, an all-way stop is not warranted based on volumes. However, this intersection is warranted for an all-way stop based on the last 3 year collision history.
“A collision analysis was completed, which revealed that there have been 17 collisions at this intersection in the past 3 years with 13 being angle collisions. A stop sign control is warranted when there are more than 3 collisions per year over a 3 year period which would be susceptible to correction by the installation of an all-way stop.
“As a result of the last 3 year collision history at the intersection of No. 5 Side Road and Boston Church Road/Third Line, the Town of Halton Hills and the Development Services Department recommends the installation of an all-way stop.”
The cost will be $800. The money will be split between Milton and Halton Hills.
