(The Milton Menace warm up during a game in 2019)
The OJHL is in agreement on an official disinfecting service.
The deal will play a big role in allowing the league to return to action by January. Read more on the league’s plan here.
All OJHL teams will be required to disinfect their dressing rooms and equipment during the upcoming season using products supplied by CleanQuip.
CleanQuip uses “patented technology to force ozone into contact with harmful bacteria and viruses. Studies have shown that ozone is effective at eliminating various types of bacteria, including E.coli, salmonella and the COVID-19 virus.”
In a statement, OJHL Director of Business Development Rick Morocco says they wanted to find an official partner before the start of the season.
“During the COVID pandemic, the OJHL has sought to partner with a company to provide our players and teams with the health and safety needed in returning to the dressing room. We are proud to partner with a proven company such as CleanQuip for our dressing room disinfecting and sanitization needs for the upcoming season.”
Regional Franchisee for CleanQuip, Andrew Wilkie, is proud of their new partnership.
“The partnership is aimed at helping to keep players safe and get back to playing hockey. CleanQuip is dedicated to sanitizing and disinfecting hockey equipment and change rooms by using a patented ozone technology in combination with Health Canada-approved Covid-19 disinfectant products.”
