Do you need some help this winter in removing snow?
The Town of Milton is taking applications for their Windrow Removal Program for the 2020-21 winter season. Windrows are piles of snow left at the bottom of driveways after the snowplow passes. The service begins when the total accumulation of snow on the roadway exceeds 10 cm (four inches) and 24 hours after the Town has completed the plowing of all roads.
The Town is inviting seniors 65+ and persons with disabilities living in Milton to apply. The registration dates were previously October 21st-22nd, but have been moved back due to recent recommendations from Halton Region’s Medical Officer of Health to limit non-essential in-person activities. With this shift, there were some adjustments to the application process:
- Residents can apply electronically by downloading the application form. Complete application forms can be sent to Town staff through email for review and processing.
- Electronic applications will only be accepted on Oct. 29 and Oct. 30 between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. All submissions will be time-stamped.
You can still apply in-person at the Milton Seniors’ Activity Centre on Oct. 29th and Oct. 30th from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.. The Town says “enhanced health and safety measures are in place at the Milton Seniors’ Centre to keep staff and visitors safe.”
The Windrow Removal Program runs from Dec. 1, 2020 to March 31, 2021 and costs $63.
