The Milton Historical Society is holding their 2nd annual Gourmet and Spirits Dinner at La Toscana in downtown Milton. Following dinner, guests will retire to the original bar room of the 1864 Thompson House Hotel, located within the restaurant.
The President of the Society, John Challinor, provides an explanation of the event.
He adds that last year’s event was very popular, covering the Milton Jail and Town Hall. This year will cover the historic houses of Milton. Challinor says Milton has a very rich history that dates back to the 1850’s, with early settlements in the 1820’s.
The MHS will be following standard health protocols for COVID-19. That includes physical distancing, masks when arriving to and leaving your table, as well as recommending people practice proper hand hygiene. The tables will be spaced out further than usual, and people are restricted to only sitting with those in their ‘bubble’.
That said, the limit of people allowed at the restaurant will affect the Society’s fundraising potential.
The dinner will take place across two nights, Tuesday, October 20th, and Tuesday, October 27th. According to Challinor, the second night still has spots available. Tickets are $75 per person and can be reserved for two, four or six persons by emailing the Society at info@mitonhistoricalsociety.ca or by leaving a message for the Society at 905-875-4156. The money raised during the Gourmet and Spirits Dinner will go towards funding the Milton Historical Society.
