Three Quebec residents are facing charges after being caught red-handed.
At roughly 1:35 a.m. on Wednesday, September 23rd, a resident interrupted a catalytic converter theft in progress in the area of Speers Road, near Third Line in Oakville.
The Halton Police stopped the vehicle. All three in the car were arrested and charged. Several catalytic converters were recovered. An investigation found that the trio had targeted several vehicles parked along Speers Road prior to being discovered.
45-year old Richard Dunn of Quebec was charged with:
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
- Theft Under $5000 (4 counts)
He was held for a bail hearing.
37-year old Kristin Mckoy of Quebec was charged with:
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
- Theft Under $5000 (4 counts).
She was held for a bail hearing.
44-year old Christopher Ryan of Quebec was charged with:
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
- Theft Under $5000 (4 counts)
- Fail to Comply with Probation
He was held for a bail hearing.
Investigators believe they are responsible for numerous catalytic converter thefts during the months of August and September in Southern Ontario and additional charges are anticipated.
