The Milton District Hospital Foundation is thankful for Bell Canada.
The Canadian telecommunications company provided a cheque for $20,000 from the #BellLetsTalk Community Fund. The MDHF says the grant will help the Hospital meet the mental health care needs of our community by supporting follow-up care to patients who come to Milton District Hospital’s Emergency Department requiring mental health services.
The Regional Director for Bell, Lena Demarco, says the goal is to improve mental health across the country.
The Executive Director of the Milton District Hospital Foundation, Helen Vatistas, says it’s amazing to receive this extra funding.
“Milton District Hospital Foundation is delighted to be a recipient of this generous support from the Bell Let’s Talk Community Fund. Now more than ever, access to mental health services is imperative. We are grateful to Bell and the Bell Let’s Talk Community Fund for bringing awareness to mental health needs and supporting our community.”
Milton Mayor Gordon Krantz was at the cheque presentation. He speaks on the importance of funding mental health services.
MDHF Chair Brian Penman has seen Milton grow over the years and knows just how much is needed to help the growing community.
“Milton is one of Canada’s fastest-growing communities, and Milton District Hospital needs to keep pace with that growth. Having quadrupled in size, the hospital has an even greater need to provide mental health support to Miltonians. Support from our community allows us to meet these needs. We are thrilled the Bell Let’s Talk Community Fund is stepping forward to support us.”
