The Milton Public Library is holding a big book sale next week, starting on Monday, September 21st.
The MPL’s Manager of Public Service, Lee Puddephatt, says there will be something for everyone.
Puddephatt adds that the quality of books will be there for the book lovers.
She says if anything, they’re selling their most popular and well-loved titles.
The sale is taking place across all three MPL branches: Main, Beaty, and Sherwood.
Residents can rest assured knowing that safety protocols are being taken to ensure everyone’s safety. There will be a limit of 50-people in each building. The Sherwood Branch will be allowed more people as the Library has booked the community room in the Sherwood Community Centre for extra space. The book sale will also follow the same rules as the MPL branches, meaning masks will be required, as well as physical distancing. Cleaning will be maintained to ensure that items are as safe as possible.
It will be $1 a book, $5 for a box of books (premade boxes are sorted by genre), and $10 for a tote. You can then fill the tote bag with as many books as you can fit. Cash will not be accepted as the Library has chosen to only accept contactless payments. Puddephatt says that if you have any issues with this, you can speak with staff at the front desk and they can try to arrange another way.
The book sales will follow the MPL branches hours. Remember, Beaty Branch is not open on Mondays, so their sale will begin on Tuesday, September 22nd.
The sale will end on Sunday, September 27th. Get out and support your local library!
