The Milton Farmers’ Market officially moves to the Fairgrounds tomorrow. (Saturday, September 12th)
It’s been a long summer for the Market, moving from its usually position in Downtown Milton along Main Street to Country Heritage Park.
The Milton Chamber of Commerce President and CEO, Scott McCammon, is excited for the switch.
The Milton Fairgrounds is the go-to place for large, outdoor gatherings in Milton. While this year has been a bit of a write-off in terms of local events, the Fairgrounds is typically where residents can enjoy the Canada Day celebration, the Fall Fair, and the occasional circus!
McCammon says the set-up at the Fairgrounds will be pretty standard.
COVID-19 brought forth a lot of new and interesting hurdles for business owners. That includes vendors at the Milton Farmers’ Market. According to McCammon, the vendors have expressed excitement in being able to just get in-front of customers, whether it’s indoors at Country Heritage Park’s Gambrel Barn, or outdoors at the Milton Fairgrounds.
Some customers expressed concern about being around people during a pandemic. That’s why the Chamber of Commerce launched their curbside pick-up service. The online shopping and curbside pick-up will still be a factor with the switch to the Fairgrounds. Residents can go to the Market’s website and find which vendors are open for pick-up.
A big note for customers to know is that the Market will be changing its hours. You can expect it to open tomorrow at 8:00 a.m. at the Milton Fairgrounds.
The Milton Farmers’ Market will be at the Milton Fairgrounds until the end of the season, which is expected to be Thanksgiving weekend.
