CN is donating to the Halton Learning Foundation.
The $100,000 donation will support low-income students of the Halton District School Board.
The CEO of HLF, Lesley Mansfield, explains why that is important.
Since 2015, the Halton Learning Foundation has received more than $800,000 in donations from CN.
The Senior Vice-President of Consumer Product Supply Chain at CN, Keith Reardon, says, “it’s a privilege for CN to partner with the Halton Learning Foundation to help children who need it.” He adds, “we believe strongly in serving the communities in which we operate. Halton Region and the people who live here are important to us.”
Mansfield says the donation will help with a few things.
Schools apply for funds from HLF on students’ behalf. Last year the charity provided over $330,000 in emergency financial support for 1,500 students across Halton, reflecting a continued rise in demand for assistance over the past several years.
