The Halton Learning Foundation is trying to help those who need it most as school is set to return.
For students who attend the Halton District School Board, there is help available through the Halton Learning Foundation (HLF).
The Back-to-School campaign aims to raise $30,000 by September 30th to ensure at least 150 students within the Halton District School Board have the supplies they need to start the school year on the right foot.
Annually, the foundation helps fund basic necessities such as clothing, food, hygiene items, and school activities for about 1,200 financially vulnerable HDSB students.
Last year, the foundation disbursed a record $330,000 to help almost 1,500 kids.
All requests come directly from teachers, principals or school social workers.
