Have you been to a Conservation Halton park recently?
The organization reopened their parks to the public in May.
They put in place new measures to follow public safety protocols.
CAO Hassaan Basit says people are enjoying the parks now more than ever.
He adds that since reopening at the end of May, they have seen roughly 380,000 visitors.
That is all while people are forced to schedule a time to hike, limiting the number of people that can be in the park at one time.
Basit says people are even using their beach.
Conservation Halton is constantly reviewing visitor feedback to see what needs to be changed. They ask each visitor to fill a survey each time they attend a Conservation Halton park. The questions in the survey are changed each week in order to keep obtaining new information from visitors.
Right now, a big thing Basit is looking to adapt is the time limits for visitors. He wants to be able to extend the time limit beyond just two hours. That’s because they’re looking to incorporate more services for customers in the near future and the visitors would need more time to take advantage of the options becoming available.
Basit says the idea is to continuously be adding services as the summer moves along, and then eventually dive head first into the winter options. He knows it might sound strange but they are just about to switch their planning into ski-season at Milton’s Glen Eden.
According to Basit, Conservation Halton park attendees have been very responsible when it comes to each and every aspect of the system. He commends them for also being mature enough to be able to follow every rule that has been set-up. As they shift back into normality once again, he thanks Conservation Halton customers.
