The 101.3 myFM 2nd annual All Hands on Deck Food Drive was a massive success yesterday at John’s No Frills on Derry Road!
At 5:00 p.m. last night, our unofficial count put us at over $5,000 worth of food donations.
All of the proceeds went towards Food4Kids Halton.
One of the organization’s volunteers, Julie, says the back-to-school rush has them working hard to collect food.
Food4Kids Halton feeds 217 Milton children every week.
That has become a lot easier with the help of everyone who came out yesterday.
Milton MP Adam van Koeverden was there to support the cause.
He says he’s committed to helping end food insecurity in Halton.
MP van Koeverden adds that while Milton is a well-off community, there are still people struggling.
101.3 myFM General Manager Hilary Montbourquette was one of the driving forces behind our event yesterday.
He explains why our station decided to help Food4Kids Halton.
John’s No Frills collected food donations until closing last night, which will significantly change our final total count. We’ll update you when an official number becomes available.
You can still donate online. Click here to donate.
