A tornado watch has been issued for Milton, Halton Hills, Caledon, Brampton and Mississauga.
Tornado watches are issued when atmospheric conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms that could produce tornadoes.
It is encouraged that should a thunderstorm begin, go indoors.
Should a tornado occur, go inside and go to a room on the lowest floor away from outside walls and windows. If you can’t make your way indoors find a way to take cover and lie in a low spot.
