The Halton Police have expressed an interest in continuing their partnership with the Halton District School Board.
Deputy Chief Roger Wilkie held a presentation at the school board’s trustee meeting on Wednesday, July 15th.
According to Wilkie, some school boards in the province have cut their ties with local police units following the global unrest around racism.
He doesn’t want the HDSB to reach the same decision.
He adds that the Halton Police liaison program is a well-thought out service.
Wilkie says their program is different.
Wilkie believes their local success is the result of their commitment to putting the right people in the right positions.
