An Oakville woman had her iCloud account hacked back in October of last year.
The pictures were then distributed to people in her contact list. The suspect tried to extort the woman for additional images.
Members of the Halton Regional Police Service – 2 District Criminal Investigations Bureau conducted an investigation and identified a suspect.
On Wednesday, July 8th, a Criminal Code search warrant was executed at an address in Hamilton. Arrested was a 32-year old Hamilton man. No name was given by the Halton Police in order to protect the identity of the victim.
The suspect was charged with:
- Mischief to Data;
- Publishing Intimate Imagines Without consent;
- Extortion.
