
The Halton Police has arrested a 41-year old man after he tried to drag a woman into a forested area.
On Sunday, July 5th, an 18-year old woman had been walking along Palladium Way in Burlington.
A grey minivan had driven past her several times.
As she entered a forested area, she was grabbed from behind.
The man covered her mouth with his hand and tried dragging her deeper into the forested area.
The victim struggled and the two fell to the ground.
She was then able to escape and call for help. The man fled the scene, returning to the grey minivan.
The woman saw the man enter the vehicle and recorded him fleeing the scene.
With the license plate caught on camera, the man was arrested.
41-year old Tanos El-Khoury has been charged with forcible confinement and assault.
El-Khoury was held for a bail hearing in Milton on July 6, 2020.
