
The Halton Police is honoring those who have lost their lives to domestic partner violence.
Since 1974, there have been 32 homicides in Halton attributed to intimate partner violence.
The victims include 26 women, four children, and two men.
Staff Sergeant Anita Laframboise says this memorial is for those who lost their lives.
While the memorial has been approved it won’t be displayed until months later.
When it comes to the reaction, Laframboise says that there has been encouraging.
The total cost of the memorial is around $10,000.
