The Halton Police is asking residents to be vigilant in relation to car thieves following the theft of a Land Rover in Oakville.
No update was provided on the case of the Land Rover.
At the end of June, a woman in Oakville had her vehicle stolen following an intentional collision caused by the suspects.
The Halton Police provided a list of tips for residents to use in a similar situation:
- If you believe you were intentionally contacted in a vehicle remain in your car and dial 9-1-1;
- Be vigilant – if you believe you are being followed dial 9-1-1 and/or drive to your closest police station;
- If you are involved in a motor vehicle collision and exit the car remove the keys from the ignition;
- Do not attempt to stop a fleeing motor vehicle.
The Halton Police end the message by saying, “community safety is a shared responsibility. Help keep communities safe and immediately report any suspicious activity.”
