SAVIS of Halton has received funding from the United Way Halton & Hamilton.
$5,000 was distributed to SAVIS to help provide them with the PPE they need in order to continue their work on the frontlines and be able to return to in person counselling when they re-open.
They also received $50,000 went to support their new online chat model for survivors who need someone to talk to.
Executive Director of SAVIS of Halton, Alma Arguello, says the $5,000 has been a godsend.
They have also continued providing support and advocacy for survivors who want to report their abuse.
While they are grateful for the donation from United Way Halton and Hamilton, they are still in need of PPE.
Arguello says their doors are always open if you want to make a donation, you need only make an appointment for safety reasons.
