Heading to the cottage anytime soon? We have a new station for you to listen to in the Peterborough/Kawartha-area.
Yesterday, ‘Alternative Rewind freq 90.5’ hit the airwaves.
Regional Manager Rob Mise says this is a station where the music is going to be the star.
Mise adds that throughout the day there will not be a lot of interruptions, which is good for both listeners and advertisers.
As for those who have grown accustomed to the in-depth local news coverage provided by 90.5, Mise insists that won’t change.
Previously, the station was EXTRA 90.5, the only sports radio station on the FM daily in Canada. The station covered the Maple Leafs, Blue Jays, Raptors, Peterborough Petes, and more.
Coverage of the Peterborough Petes and Toronto Maple Leafs will continue under the new format, with lives games expected to be carried when action returns.
‘Alternative Rewind freq 90.5’, which is owned and operated by My Broadcasting Corporation, is in the midst of playing 10,000 straight songs.
