Weatherwise, the next few days will get interesting.
We’re likely going to get off and on thunderstorms this evening (Friday, June 19th). We could see wind gusts reaching up to 100 km/h, hail the size of quarters, 50-75mm of rain, and wind funnels.
That should all clear up by this evening.
Moving forward, this weekend is going to be a hot one. Saturday and Sunday, and possibly Monday, will have highs in the low 30’s. The humidex may even reach into the high 30’s.
The following information comes directly from Environment Canada:
Hot and humid air can bring deteriorating air quality and can result in the Air Quality Health Index to approach the high risk category.
The risks are greater for young children, pregnant women, older adults, people with chronic illnesses and people working or exercising outdoors.
Never leave people or pets inside a parked vehicle.
Ask a health professional how medications or health conditions can affect your risk in the heat.
