It’s a hot one today (Tuesday, June 9th) in Milton.
Temperatures are expected to climb to 30-34 degrees celsius across southern Ontario.
Environment Canada says overnight temperatures will “remain in the low twenties, especially in urban areas tonight, providing little relief from the heat.”
While the humidity today should remain in the mid-thirties, tomorrow is a different story. We could expect similar temperatures on Wednesday, with the humidity dipping into the forties.
A cold front accompanied by showers and thunderstorms will move through Southern Ontario Wednesday night, bringing this heat event to an end.
Remember, extreme heat affects everyone.
The risks are greater for young children, pregnant women, older adults, people with chronic illnesses and people working or exercising outdoors.
Never leave people or pets inside a parked vehicle.
Outdoor workers should take regularly scheduled breaks in a cool place.
