The Town of Milton will be holding a flag raising for Pride Month on Monday, June 8th.
This will be the third annual Pride flag raising for the Town.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the Town will be making the flag raising available to watch online.
Member of the Milton LGBTQ+ Events Facebook page, Angela Burnett, talks about the importance of having the Town of Milton recognize the LGBTQ+ community.
Another member of the Facebook page, Jeannie White, touches on what Pride means to the LGBTQ+ community.
White says the restrictions caused by COVID-19 will make the community adapt.
Burnett is happy with the growth that has happened so far, but wishes to see more moving forward.
She says the virtual event may even attract more people who might have been unable to attend a physical flag raising.
The virtual Pride flag raising will start at 12:00 p.m. with a proclamation from Milton Mayor Gordon Krantz.
Details can be found through the Milton LGBTQ+ Events Facebook page and their event.
