As of June 1st through to October 31st, Milton Hydro will be introducing a fixed electricity price known as the COVID-19 Recovery Rate of 12.8 cents per kWh.
Households, farms and small businesses paying TOU electricity rates will be charged this new rate 24 hours, 7 days a week.
This rate is based on the average cost of electricity set by the Ontario Energy Board.
Milton Hydro says that this will allow consumers more flexibility to use electricity when needed without having to pay peak or mid peak prices.
This charge will be applied automatically to those who pay TOU rates.
It will not apply to to RPP customers who pay tiered rates or to those who have opted out of RPP to sign a contract with an electricity retailer.
