The Town of Milton has created an economic task force to meet and discuss the Town’s economic recovery from COVID-19.
Their duties may include hands-on business support services, education and advocacy efforts with community partners, and proactive stimulus activities in partnership with all levels of government.
Regional Councillor for Ward 3, Mike Cluett, was involved in the meeting on Tuesday.
He breaks down the overall goal of the group.
One of the key ideas that came up included how to handle employees who are returning to work.
Councillor Cluett also shared some examples of what the Town of Milton is doing to save money.
The task force includes representation from Milton’s largest businesses and other key stakeholders from a variety of sectors including real estate, manufacturing, supply chain and logistics, as well as technology, high-performance sport, and academia.
Also, the task force will include representation from the Chair of the Milton Economic Development Advisory Committee (MEDAC), Milton Chamber of Commerce, as well as political leadership from Milton’s Provincial MPP and Federal MP as elected officials.
