A new challenge is hitting construction sites in Milton.
The Lunchbox Challenge is taking inspiration from previous viral challenges with hopes of getting people to supporting local restaurants.
Scott Construction Group is working on 6 Bronte Street South, at the corner of Bronte and Main in Milton.
Roughly 30 workers received hot lunches from Judy’s Restaurant in Erin.
Director Andrew Hill explains why they decided to take part in the challenge.
Site Superintendent, Blair Robertson, says the challenge has really taken off.
Hill adds to the success of the challenge.
It’s been a unique time for construction sites during the COVID-19 outbreak.
Robertson says he’s really proud of his crew because they’ve had to adapt to new measures on a regular basis.
Hill believes they may continue doing the challenge on a regular basis to make sure local restaurants continue to receive support.
Already launched in BC on April 20, 2020, more than 30 construction businesses have taken part so far, purchasing and serving thousands of lunches at job sites throughout the province, with more joining daily.
