On May 22nd, Conservation Halton will be opening Crawford Lake, Hilton Falls, Rattlesnake Point, Mount Nemo and Kelso Summit to staff and the public for hiking and biking with most if not all trails available.
All visits will be pre-reserved.
Guests will have to either call or visit their website in order to make a 2 hour long reservation within their operating hours which are from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m.
Facilities such as bathrooms, outhouses and visitor centres will be closed.
They will have reduced staff so programs and services such as camping, boat rentals, and challenge courses are still on hold.
Park entrance fees will be reduced for the time being and their gates will be automated with contact-less payment.
By making a reservation, Conservation Halton will be able to monitor how many people are in the parks to ensure that physical distancing measures are being met.
Conservation Halton says that they will be able to accommodate about 75,000 visitors across the parks per week which means there will be about 15,000 time slots available.
They add that their new reservation system will be able to help guests know which parks, days and times are the most or least busy before they leave home.
Robert Edmondson, Mountsberg and the rest of Kelso will be opening in the coming weeks.
