The Milton Public Library has received a new grant for their work in opening the discussion on the environment.
The TD Friends of the Environment Foundation Grant will give the MPL $2000.
It’s for their 2020-21 “Speak for the Bees” lecture series.
Community-Led Librarian, Emily Thompson, says the idea came from a series of community conversations led throughout the last year.
Thompson says there’s been a global shift in awareness regarding climate change.
‘Speak for the Bees’ is a reference to Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax.
Thompson explains the connection between the fluffy, orange Seuss character and the MPL’s freshly branded mascot, the bee.
The Milton Public Library made a conscious decision to shift to online during the COVID outbreak.
Thompson has a message to their patrons and the Milton community.
The Milton Public Library has a multitude of online events available for the public.
