Premier Doug Ford has announced that 520 provincial parks and conservation reserves will be reopening on Monday May 11th for limited day-use access.
The remaining 115 areas will open on Friday May 15th.
Recreational activities will be limited to walking, hiking, biking and birdwatching.
Day visitors will have free access to the parks until the end of the month.
Premier Ford reminds people to continue practicing physical distancing while enjoying the outdoors.
Camping will not be allowed at any provincial park or conservation reserve.
All buildings and facilities including washrooms, water taps, campgrounds, backcountry campsites, roofed accommodation, playgrounds and beaches continue to be closed.
In the coming weeks, Ontario Parks’ staff will be doing maintenance and preparing so that more recreational activities and facilities will be open when it’s safe to do so.
