Youth week kicks off today and runs until May 7th.
Community Development Advisor of the Milton Youth Strategy, Andrea Beebe, talks about the meaning behind the week.
Due to COVID-19, the way the Milton Youth Task Force will be celebrating is going to look a little different as they won’t be able to hold their Youth Awards until hopefully later in the year.
Lisgar student and Milton Youth Task Force member, Shrena Sribalan, talks about how they will be acknowledging volunteer week this year.
Any youth between the ages of 12 and 18 can submit their acts of volunteerism to the Task Force to get a shout out on their Instagram page. Shoutouts will begin on Monday, May 4th and they will continue to accept submissions throughout the week.
Sribalan shares how else the Milton Youth Task Force will be celebrating Youth Week virtually.
They are also collecting messages for seniors on their social media pages.
