The launch of the new Milton Public Library app has gone well.
The MPL was preparing to launch the app prior to the COVID-19 outbreak.
However, when the closure of Town services happened, the Library decided it was best to launch the app anyway.
Chief Public Librarian, Mark Williams, says the numbers are looking really promising.
Williams says feedback so far has been mostly questions about how to access certain features.
They’ve only experienced one issue that they didn’t anticipate.
Williams feels changes won’t be necessary in the short-term, but updates will come eventually.
He’s a big fan of the MPL patrons having their library cards on their smartphones.
As it stands, Town of Milton facilities are set to re-open at the end of May.
Williams says that if that date doesn’t change, Library patrons can expect some protective measures to be put into effect to help flatten the curve of spread.
If anything changes, whether it’s the date of re-opening or how the MPL will go about protecting patrons during the COVID-19 outbreak upon re-opening, you can find all of their announcements on the social media channels.
