
Halton Police are urging residents to remain vigilant in reporting suspected child abuse.
Along with Halton Children’s Aid Society, the Halton Police are working to provide help when available.
Halton Police’s numbers have dropped 73% from this time last year, while Halton CAS’s numbers are down 50% in the same timeframe.
Detective Sergeant Crystal Kelly says the recent self-isolation period has caused the sharp drop in reports.
Director of Protection Services at the Halton Children’s Aid Society, Jennifer Binnington, says they are very concerned with the drop.
Detective Sergeant Kelly has a message for residents.
